Public Interest Dislosures

The Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022 (PID Act) provides a framework and protections for public officials to report serious wrongdoing in the public sector.

The NSW Crime Commission is required to have a Public Interest Disclosure Policy under section 42 of the PID Act to support a speak up culture and reporting of wrongdoing.

The Policy provides information including how to make a PID report, how the Commission will deal with the report, and the protections available to a PID maker under the PID Act.

Your Privacy

Any information provided to the NSW Crime Commission is treated carefully and confidentially.

If you have concerns about your privacy, you can submit a complaint anonymously. But it may be harder for us to assess or investigate an anonymous complaint.

For this reason, it’s a good idea to give us a way to contact you. If you do give us your contact details, we’ll let you know that we’ve received your complaint. We’ll also tell you what action we decide to take.

If your complaint is a public interest disclosure, your matter will be subject to greater protections and restrictions.
