An ongoing joint investigation between the NSW Police Organised Crime Squad (NSWP OCS), Australian Federal Police and NSW Crime Commission has led to the arrests of two men alleged to be involved in the importation of 4kg of methylamphetamine (ice) in an air cargo consignment from the United States of America. SF Mactier detectives discovered the consignment last month, which after further testing returned a positive result for ice. The substance has an estimated potential street value of $3 million.

On 3 February, NSWP OCS detectives arrested two men during a vehicle stop at Wetherill Park.  A short time later, with the assistance of the South West Metropolitan Regional Enforcement Squad (RES), detectives executed a search warrant at a Greenfield Park home and seized a package containing an unknown white powder, cannabis, equipment consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs, a ‘pistol-like’ pellet gun, cash and mobiles phones.

Detectives have charged the first man with possess a commercial quantity suspected of being an illegal import of a border-controlled drug. The second man was charged with possess and supply a prohibited drug.
