A man has been charged after $4.5m in prohibited drugs were seized as part of an ongoing joint agency investigation between the NSW Police, Queensland Police, NSW Crime Commission and Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.

As part of its operations, the NSW Police Raptor Squad commenced investigations into the sale and supply of prohibited drugs between NSW and Queensland by persons of interest connected to the Commancheros OMCG. On 4 March 2021, Queensland Police arrested a man at Eight Mile Plains. A search warrant was also executed at a building site in Yatala, Queensland.

Detectives seized 130kg of cannabis, 1.5kg of cocaine, 2000L of chemicals and a mobile phone. The combined value of the seizure totalled $4.5m, pending further testing of the chemical substances.

The man was charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of things used in connection with an offence against the Drugs Misuse Act 1986 and tainted property.
