Strike Force Courier Media Release

An additional two men have been charged with murder over the fatal shooting of Mejid Hamzy in October 2020.

These further arrests are part of Strike Force Courier joint investigations between NSW Police Criminal Groups Squad and South West Metropolitan Region, and the NSW Crime Commission.

On Thursday 10 March following extensive inquiries, detectives executed four search warrants at homes at East Hills, Panania, Bankstown and Padstow. During the searches, investigators seized cash, clothing and other items relevant to the investigation.

Two men were arrested and charged with murder, supply prohibited drug more than large commercial quantity and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity. A third man, who police allege supplied methylamphetamine on an ongoing basis between October 2021 and March 2022, was charged with drug related offences.

These latest arrests join two men who have already been charged over the shooting murder. Their matters remain before the courts.
