Strike Force Mote Media Release
Five people have been charged following an ongoing joint investigation into an alleged large-scale drug syndicate operating between the Illawarra region and Sydney.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District established Strike Force Mote with the assistance of NSW Police State Crime Command and the NSW Crime Commission.
Following on from a number of arrests earlier this year, NSW Police executed ten search warrants at Brighton Le Sands, Arncliffe, Banksia, Rockdale, Condell Park, Greenacre, Potts Hill, Chipping Norton and Coniston between 13-15 September 2021.
Approximately 1.5kg of methamphetamine, 340g of cocaine, heroin, two unauthorised prohibited pistols and approximately $100,000 in cash were seized. NSW Police also seized a Toyota Aurion and Mitsubishi Lancer. Five people were arrested and charged.
The estimated potential street value of the drugs seized is valued at $1 million.
