A joint operation between State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad (NSW Police), the NSW Crime Commission and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission has resulted in three men charged with drug related and serious criminal offences as part of an ongoing investigation into an organised crime syndicate. Police allege that one of these men is a senior facilitator of the syndicate’s drug distribution operations.

Acting on intelligence, Strike Force Alverton was establish in November 2019 by Organised Crime Squad detectives to investigate a criminal syndicate supplying a commercial quantity of prohibited drugs across Sydney.

On 1 July 2020, officers executed a search warrant at a Bass Hill hotel where they located and seized 7kg of heroin with a street value of $3 million and a large quantity of cash.

Search warrants were also carried out at properties in Cabramatta, Blue Mountains, Canley Vale and Guilford. Across these four locations, police seized $247,000 in cash, cocaine, cannabis, prescription drugs, hard drives, mobile phones and a CCTV recording device. These seizures are in addition to 10kg of MDMA seized over the course of the investigation.
